Functional Behavior Assessment

An evaluative tool used to determine the reason, or function, of problematic behavior. Methodologies include structured interview with caregivers, completion of behavior rating scales, direct observation with data collection, preference (reinforcer) assessments, analysis and interpretation of data, and development of detailed, individualized recommendations designed to treat the target behavior(s).

Educational / Vocational Program Assessments

A review of current Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Individualized Habilitation Plan (IHP), Individual Service Plan (ISP), and other programming can increase the abilities of individuals across the lifespan. Recommendations for further skill development are generated and shared with the interdisciplinary team.

Brief Functional Analysis

The brief functional analysis (BFA) methodology, based upon the research of Northup, et al. (1991), is used to identify the function of problem behaviors using a systematic manipulation of antecedents and consequences within 5-10 minute sessions. This assessment is often conducted if results of the FBA are inconclusive or to validate the suggested function.

Toilet Training

Incontinence at any age can be extremely frustrating. Research and experience validated methodologies for rapidly toilet training children and adults will be employed by consultants and taught to caregivers.
