Speech Therapy at Interactive Kids

Service Available at East Gate & Linwood Locations

The speech language pathologist uses formal assessments, behavioral observations, parental report and background information about the child to determine if a speech and/or language problem is present.

Tests given by the speech-language pathologist may look at a child’s:

  • Receptive Vocabulary
  • Understanding of Grammar and Syntax
  • Auditory Skills
  • Social use of Language for Interactive Communication

Goals are selected to help achieve success through a carefully designed sequence of activities.

The length and amount of therapy depends on the child’s age and nature of the problem. Most commonly, children are seen twice weekly for 30 minute sessions.

Parent involvement in the therapy process is highly encouraged.

Parental training can improve a child’s overall success and practice of skills at home.
